HOW TO - Check your new programmable ESC is setup correctly

If you have just got hold of a decent programmable ESC such as the Sonix or Castle Creations or HobbyWing there are a lot of settings, some of which you may have your own preferences for, but there are some that you MUST setup in a certain way, and this article is to help you make sure you haven't done anything silly....

The ones you MUST SETUP CORRECTLY ARE AS SHOWN BELOW :-

Brake - Must be OFF

Battery type should almost certainly be auto detect or LIPO

Start Up Mode should be either super soft or soft

Timing is usually best left at the factory default unless you understand it.

Cut off mode should be as gentle as the options allow to let you to autotoate with some power left
