TIPS & TRICKS -
How to set up a DX6i easily to do the pitch setup without changing your T/P curves

Tip donated by CYPRUSDAVE

One of the tasks we all have to do again from time to time is needing to check/reset our pitch ranges, and if you use a DX6i or similar transmitter, this usually means having to change your hard worked out Pitch and Throttle curves so that you have 50% on both at half throttle.

Well, Dave (CYPRUSDAVE) has come up with a great way to avoid having to do this, so many thanks go to him for letting me add this tip to the site.

The trick is to simply use the Throttle Hold setting on the DX6i, as it has both it's own throttle and pitch curves.

You leave your NORMAL and STUNT curves well alone, and just work with the throttle hold settings.

Leave the throttle curve at a flat zero (or even -5, although there are some arguments against that), so the motor will not run. Then set the Pitch curve to 0%, 50%, 50%, 50%, 100%. This means that you have full pitch range, and as long as the left stick is even close to centered, you will definitely have 50% pitch.

Once you have finished, just remember to reset this to zero or -5 so that you will again
have your throttle hold working as  you want it - to kill the motor stone dead.
