Tips & Tricks

This tip applies only to the Spektrum DX6i transmitter !!!

Many people ask this question - Can you switch the operating mode of a DX6i from Mode 1 to mode 2 and vice versa.

The answer is a resounding YES, BUT it takes some time and it is quite fiddly to do as you have to physically switch the two stick assemblies over.

To do the impossible bit is however quite easy, and that is telling the Tx to switch modes internally (electronically)  This is made possible by a very well hidden menu option as described below.

1 Turn your radio on.
2 Go into the SETUP menu
3 Select the COPY/RESET option
4 Select the RESET option on that menu, do not press the roller to select this option
5 When you are asked if you are sure ? select the LIST option
6 Toggle the Aileron D/R at the top right of the radio several times
7 The screen should change to a new display showing the current mode of the radio
8 Select the mode field and use the scroll bar in the normal way to select the opposite mode.
9 Press the select button to save the new mode.
10 Check out the sticks and see that the new mode is operating correctly.

Then you have to do the physical swapping around of the gimbals by stripping the radio down.

Rather than repeat it all here, I recommend that you go to THIS LINK SITE and then read the instructions VERY carefully, and probably print them out as well

Good luck with it...
