Scorpion
ESC (Electronic Speed Controllers)
Scorpion
are of course a major player in the area of motors and ESC's for
electric helicopters.
Sadly,
There have been rather too many reports of failures of the ESC's, the
most common being that the refuse to spool up the motor immediately
after being installed, or to leave you with no real control over the
throttle. I personally had TWO Scorpion 45A ESC's do
this in quick succession.
The
risk with this is that if you loose control of the throttle in flight,
you are going to CRASH for almost sure.
Such failures are liable to cause the helicopter
to crash, and quite possibly result in serious damage to the helicopter.
The
other effect is of course the risk of the helicopter colliding with
yourself, other people, animals, or even traffic driving down a road.
THIS
IS A REALLY UNACCEPTABLE SITUATION FOR ANY MAJOR MANUFACTURER TO SHIP
CRUCIAL ITEMS THAT ARE SO UNRELIABLE
